For more than 50 years, the Fort Edward Chamber of Commerce has been a community minded organization actively dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our friendly village and town.

Over the years, hundreds of volunteers have organized celebrations that ranged from parades to festivals, music concerts, river races and visits from Santa.

Chamber members spear-headed a capital drive that raised $13,000 for outside Christmas decorations and worked on building a gazebo in the Yacht Basin which now hosts summer concerts, weddings and other programs.

Yearly landscaping projects in the Yacht Basin insure that visitors to our community are greeted with flowers, flags and a clean, attractive park. A newly installed visitor's booth holds brochures, maps and local events listings

The current board of directors recently launched an advertising campaign "Historic Fort Edward: A River Runs Through It," which has been marketed to canal travelers and regional visitors and created "Memory Lane," a popular Christmas festivity which includes more than 30 live Christmas trees installed and decorated along the Yacht Basin walkway.

The Chamber also participates in the "I Love New York," co-operative advertising program and sponsors print and radio advertising promoting Fort Edward locally.  An economic development book, which covers all aspects of life in Fort Edward, is currently being updated to reflect the new census information.

Membership in the Chamber is $50 yearly for businesses and $15 for individuals. The Chamber office is located across from the Town & Village Hall at 119 Broadway.  They are sharing office space with Hudson River C.A.R.E.  The phone number is (518) 747-3000.
