Fort Edward offers a very progressive educational atmosphere, from pre-school through high school with several colleges within easy driving distance. The area also has a progressive health care system to provide for the well being of the residents.

Fort Edward has a Middle School as well as a High School to fulfill the educational needs of the youth of Fort Edward.  Here are some photos of the school.  

Local Colleges

There are four colleges within a 30 - 60 minute driving distance of Fort Edward.

• Adirondack Community College offers a wide variety of degree and certificate programs. Some prepare the student to head straight for the workplace, and others are designed for transfer to a four-year college.
• Skidmore College is an independent, coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of 2,200 men and women and a student-faculty ratio of 11:1. The College's 850-acre campus is located near the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, on the edge of Saratoga Springs, a city rich in history and well known for its Victorian charm and modern cultural sophistication.
• Since 1971, SUNY Empire State College has been an international leader in providing innovative, adult-focused programs at the associate, bachelor's and master's degree levels throughout the State of New York, and beyond.
• And the College of St. Rose, located in Albany.

Health Care in the Region

Health care services in Fort Edward range from the 4 local physicians and 3 dentists to Glens Falls Hospital which is located a short 20 minutes away. The hospital has more than 225 affiliated physicians, ranging from primary care practitioners to surgical sub-specialists.  Saratoga Hospital, located in Saratoga Springs is a short 30 minutes away from Fort Edward.  

The Fort Hudson Health System offers care for the elderly and has dedicated a new wing to care for Alzheimer's patients.  A newly established adult care unit allows for supervision but patients have the option of coming and going on their own.  Hospice and CARITAS services are also available locally.
